Rev. Billy gives us a brief mission statement for his church, and tells us about his weekly radio show Sunday mornings at 2am on WABC AM 770.
We talk about the summer of rage, and the weak reforms so far to police budgets and policies. We discuss climate action, and Billy is very direct in his criticism of Bill McKibben and Naomi Klein for their efforts to suppress Michael Moore’s Planet of the Humans documentary. This leads to so eloquent remarks from Billy about the power of Mother Earth and his earth-centered spirituality.
We talk about the Church’s plans to protest at the Manhattan pad of Jeff Bezos on Black Friday, November 27.
And near the end, we reminisce about our early connections in San Francisco, when Bill Talen introduced PBC to Spalding Gray.
